Good cause eligibility: which organisations can join Neighbourly

Which types of organisations are eligible to join Neighbourly as a good cause

This article explains which types of organisations are eligible to join Neighbourly as a 'good cause', and which are not.

Eligible organisations

  • Registered charities and CICs verified via the Charity Commission or Companies House
  • Community groups, centres, and organisations
  • Schools, not-for-profit nurseries, and family centres
  • Community Benefit Societies (CBS) confirmed with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) with up-to-date annual returns
  • NHS Trust projects and services — must sign up under the Trust's registered charity only
  • Private Companies Limited by Guarantee — may be approved if Companies House registration confirms this

Note: If Companies House or Charity Commission filings are overdue, the organisation will be declined.

Only registered charities or CICs are eligible to use the Individual Giving fundraising feature to receive card donations from members of the public.

Not eligible

  • Private Limited Companies
  • For-profit companies, even those engaged in community activities
  • Local authorities, councils, and parish councils
  • Fee-paying schools (including those with charity status)
