Grants: eligibility, deadlines and impact reporting
Who can apply for grants, what happens if you miss the deadline, and whether you need to report on impact
This article explains grant eligibility requirements, deadline rules, and impact reporting obligations.
Do I need to be a registered charity to apply for a grant?
Not always. Some grants accept applications from not-for-profit community organisations as well as registered charities and CICs. The eligibility criteria vary by fund and are visible on the application page before you apply.
Can I still apply if I have missed the deadline?
No. Applications cannot be submitted after the deadline, which is visible on the application page. You can view all application questions in advance of the deadline to help you prepare.
How long does my organisation have to spend the grant?
If there are stipulations around when a grant must be spent, these will be made clear in the grant application criteria. Check the application page for any specific conditions.
Do I need to provide feedback on how the grant was used?
Only if stipulated in the grant criteria. If impact reporting is required, it will be made clear on the application page and you will be reminded by email at the appropriate time.
