Making a donation on Neighbourly: how it works for different users
How to donate as a member of the public, and how business and charity donation programmes work
This article explains how donations work on Neighbourly. The process is different depending on whether you are a member of the public, a business, or a charity.
I am a member of the public — how do I donate?
You can donate directly to a charity's fundraising pot on their Neighbourly page. You will need your name, postal address (if including a Gift Aid declaration), email address, and credit or debit card details. You must confirm you are aged 16 or above. All payments are processed securely via Stripe. You may choose to donate anonymously — your name won't appear publicly, but your details are shared privately with the charity for reporting purposes.
I am a business — how do I donate to charities?
Businesses donate through grant programmes run via a Neighbourly licence. The minimum donation to a single charity through a grant programme is £500. To set up a donation programme, schedule a discovery call with the Neighbourly business team at hub.neighbourly.com/business-enquiry.
I am a charity — how do I receive donations?
Charities receive donations in two ways: through public fundraising pots (set up via Stripe on your Neighbourly page) and through corporate grant programmes run by business partners. For public donations, funds appear in your Stripe account minus the 5% transaction fee. The first payment to your bank account is made seven days after your first donation, then on a seven-day rolling basis.
Are there any fees?
A 5% transaction fee applies to all public donations to cover payment provider costs. Gift Aid declarations are exempt from this fee. There are no fees for charities receiving corporate grant funding.
