Public fundraising: getting approved and vetting

How charities and CICs get approved to fundraise from the public on Neighbourly

This article explains how to get approved for public fundraising on Neighbourly and what the vetting process involves.

Who is eligible for public fundraising?

Only registered charities and CICs (Community Interest Companies) are eligible to fundraise from members of the public via the Individual Donations feature.

How do I get approved?

  1. Create a Neighbourly page and connect it to Stripe (the payment provider)
  2. Create a Fundraising Pot
  3. Submit for approval — the Neighbourly team will review your application, which normally takes around 3 working days

What does the vetting process check?

Neighbourly checks information found at gov.uk/find-charity-information and may use additional sources of publicly available information. Neighbourly reserves the right to withdraw fundraising approval at any time.
