Surplus: troubleshooting collection problems
What to do if you're not receiving notifications, have a problem with a donation, or want to request specific items
This article covers common issues with surplus food collections on Neighbourly.
Why am I not receiving notifications about surplus food, or why are no slots showing on my dashboard?
There are several possible reasons:
- Your Neighbourly page may not yet be approved for collections
- There may be no available slots in your local area
- Your partner store may not currently be making donations
Contact the Neighbourly team to check your application status or to report issues with a specific store.
Can I request a specific item for donation?
No. Neighbourly is not able to facilitate specific product requests or one-off donations for the purposes of raffles, fundraising events, or hampers.
I have a problem with my food donations — who should I contact?
- If you cannot collect a donation, reject it via the alert you received or go to neighbourly.com/myinkind/goodcause/archive
- If you need to pause collections, add a collection break via your Collection schedule page
- If you need help with scheduling, contact the Neighbourly team
In some cases Neighbourly may ask you to contact your partner store directly if the issue can best be resolved locally.
